Photography shouldn't be limited to only milestones. Whether you're documenting your family, celebrating a birthday, need a new LinkedIn photo, or just feel like showing off your personality, a portrait session is a perfect excuse to step in front of the camera.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long have you been doing this?

I've had a camera in my hand since 2005. I got my first paid gig in 2009 - a birthday party for a friend of my mom's. I started photographing weddings in 2013 and have almost always had a job where a camera is in my hand.

How many images do we get from our family or senior session?

On average, you can expect to receive between 80-100 images from your session.

Adding friends and family members to your session may increase this amount.

When will we get our photos?

The processing time for engagement and portrait sessions is 2 weeks.

Can we print our photos?

PLEASE print your photos. I can't stress it enough. Hang them on your walls, hold them in your hands. Give them to your friends and family, use them for holiday cards. Your hard drives and flash drives will fail eventually, and your cloud storage will fill up in time. I could talk for a long time about the importance of printing your photos. You can order prints directly through your online gallery or through any professional printing service you'd like. If you need recommendations, I'm happy to offer suggestions.

Can I post my pictures online?

Absolutely. Please post your pictures online - and please tag me! The best advertising is word of mouth and sharing your photos online helps new clients find me.

You can find me online on Instagram at @cassondrawoodphoto, on Facebook under Cassondra Wood Photography, and on TikTok under @ohsnapcass.

Can you retouch my images?

All images delivered receive what we call global edits - color correction, cropping, exposure correction and general adjustments. In addition to this, I go in further and correct blemishes and skin tone to ensure you look your best on your wedding or session day.

Extensive retouching includes face swapping, background editing, and advanced skin retouching and can be done for $20/image.

How far do you travel?

Most commonly, I work in the Greater Philadelphia Area.

I've photographed as far north as Rhode Island and as far south as lower Delaware. I've gone as far east as the New Jersey shore, and as far west as Lancaster, PA.

For any travel outside of 60 miles round trip, I include a travel fee of $0.57 per mile.

What kind of retainer do I need to pay upfront?

All weddings and sessions require a 25% retainer to hold your date up front. Full payment is due two weeks before your wedding and funds are always held in a separate account until your event is complete.

Portrait sessions can be paid in advance or at the time of the session.

Payments can be made by credit card through your client invoice. I can also accept cash, check and informal methods such as Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, and CashApp.

What can I expect for a family or senior portrait session?

I love to do outdoor sessions, so if at all possible, we'll be outside. You can choose the location - for graduating seniors, it makes sense to be around something school-related, wether that's your campus, a place you like to hang out, or somewhere that's important to you. For family sessions, I have a handful of local parks I like to use, but I'm always open to a place that makes sense for you. Some families choose to have an activity for their session, like getting ice cream or making cookies together, and that can make for some great photographs!

Regardless of your session type, we'll spend about an hour together. I'll make sure to get lots of candid photographs of you laughing and enjoying your time together, but we'll also make sure to get some photos of you looking at the camera and smiling too. If you have anything specific in mind, make sure to let me know ahead of your session so we can do our best to make your vision a reality.

Do you photograph extended family sessions?

Yup. A regular family session is limited to one household - meaning whoever lives at home with you can come to the session for the included price. If you'd like to have multiple households added to your family session, I charge $100 per extra household and add 30 extra minutes. Keep in mind that this adds up quickly, but it's a great way to get the family together and create a special moment you'll all remember.

Extended family sessions are subject to an additional fees where significant travel is required.

Can we include our pets in our session?

Absolutely. I'd love to meet and photograph your pets. Just give me a heads up they're attending so I can bring a little something extra to hold their attention.

Can I add my friends to my senior or graduation session?

The more the merrier! My senior session rates are priced for individuals, but you can add friends to your session for $75 each. Senior sessions involving 4 or more people will be lengthened to an hour. This is a great way to split up the cost of a session, but keep in mind that each person will receive less individual photos due to time constraints and the addition of more group shots. Adding friends to your session does not essentially mean we're scheduling four mini-sessions, but that we're scheduling one group session with individual portraits of each included in your gallery.

What do I wear for a portrait session?

Family sessions look best when outfits are coordinated, but unique - think a color family. If you're looking for a classic matching vibe, jeans and a solid color top work on pretty much everyone.

For senior sessions, I always suggest bringing your cap and gown with you for a few shots.

At the end of the day, you want to wear something that makes you feel good about yourself. If you're uncomfortable in your clothing, you're going to look uncomfortable in your photos.

My employees need photos. Is there a discount for booking multiple sessions in a day?

Individual headshot or professional portrait sessions are $175 per person. If you need more than 3 people photographed in one session, I can offer bulk discounts. Email me to set this up.

Can I choose the photos for my headshots?

All professional portrait sessions will receive a watermarked gallery to choose the photos they'd like edited. Sessions include 2-3 retouched photos per person with the option to purchase more, if needed.

Once you've chosen your 2-3 photos to be edited, you'll receive those within two weeks.

Do you provide props for my session?

Unless we've discussed this ahead of time, I do not provide props for your sessions. However, you are absolutely welcome to bring along any props that you'd like to incorporate into your session.

Some things to consider for your session may be a blanket for sitting in grass, signs or banners for birthdays or graduations, a graduation tassel, your cap and gown, a treasured photograph of a loved one, champagne and glasses, or stuffed animals and toys.

If you need me to arrange to bring these props for you, there will be an additional fee.
